Considering a move

Hello,

We are considering a move to Geoje from the UK, having previously been expats in Dubai.

We have three children aged 1, 5 and 6 years.

The forum has been really useful, but we still feel quite unprepared to make this big decision.

Is Geoje a nice place to live/ work? We are considering Samsung Village or Mijin tower, if we can secure places at either.

Are there good facilities for kids (swimming, cycling areas and parks) in the area. Are the beaches safe?

Ratings out of 10 for happiness? 0 being the worst and 10 the best.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/ advice or honesty!

I would give life on Geoje about an 8 but I am a single guy with a drinking problem so my scale might be different :P

I would say life is pretty good here to be honest.

The weather is now warming up so it will be perfect for the beaches around the Island, I wouldn't worry as they are pretty safe.

For apartments I would check more than just Samsung village (Which is in Gohyeon) and Mijin Tower Palace (Located in Okpo), although both are nice there are plenty of newer apartments you can now look at.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say around 8.

I almost forgot to mention there are parks you can take the kiddies to, and in the summer there is now water park roughly 15 minutes drive from Okpo and a Sea world a little further from there.

Oh and if you like a drink or two, you are well covered.

Check out the GFRA :)

Chris.
