Hi, we're moving to Geoje in July and trying to figure out where to live. Can anyone tell us what is Deokpo-dong like? We have 2.5 y.o. girl.
Thanks

Laura

Laura,

Dokpo is a nice place to stay, depending where you will stay.
We stayed in a house with seaview which was just perfect for us.
There are lots of newbuild projects going on in Dokpo so there is more choise, but (more) expensive.

Dokpo is very small but you have the beach close by and a few good coffeeshops. No Western restaurants but Okpo is only crossing the hill, by car 5 minutes.

No playing ground for kids in Dokpo but plenty of space on the beach once the weather will be better.

Hope this helps a bit. You can google Dokpo Korea and find some images how it looks.

Deokpo is OK. Somewhat isolated although there are lots of new places being built. You'll want to have a car. There are no places to get groceries so you have to go into Okpo to do all your shopping. There are only a few corner stores around, and the farmer trucks that cruise through every once in a while. The beach is nice and there's a few good hiking trails.
